Description

Crispy and healthy air fryer banana chips made from slightly underripe bananas, coated with coconut or olive oil, and seasoned with salt and optional spices. A perfect low-fat, vegan snack that’s quick to prepare and packed with natural sweetness and crunch.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 2 firm bananas (slightly underripe)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (melted) or olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon or chili powder for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. Slice Bananas: Peel the bananas and slice them into thin, even rounds about 1/8-inch thick to ensure uniform cooking and crispiness.
  2. Coat Slices: Place the banana slices in a bowl and gently toss them with melted coconut or olive oil until evenly coated for a light crisp texture.
  3. Arrange in Air Fryer: Lay the slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping to allow even air circulation.
  4. Air Fry: Cook the banana slices at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes, flipping them halfway through to achieve golden color and crispness on both sides.
  5. Season and Cool: Remove the chips carefully, sprinkle immediately with salt and optional cinnamon or chili powder, then let them cool slightly to crisp up fully before serving.

Notes

  • Use underripe bananas (yellow with a hint of green) for the best crunch.
  • Store cooled banana chips in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
  • For sweeter chips, lightly brush with honey before air frying.
