Ingredients
- 2 firm bananas (slightly underripe)
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (melted) or olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Optional: 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon or chili powder for extra flavor
Instructions
- Slice Bananas: Peel the bananas and slice them into thin, even rounds about 1/8-inch thick to ensure uniform cooking and crispiness.
- Coat Slices: Place the banana slices in a bowl and gently toss them with melted coconut or olive oil until evenly coated for a light crisp texture.
- Arrange in Air Fryer: Lay the slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping to allow even air circulation.
- Air Fry: Cook the banana slices at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes, flipping them halfway through to achieve golden color and crispness on both sides.
- Season and Cool: Remove the chips carefully, sprinkle immediately with salt and optional cinnamon or chili powder, then let them cool slightly to crisp up fully before serving.
Notes
- Use underripe bananas (yellow with a hint of green) for the best crunch.
- Store cooled banana chips in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
- For sweeter chips, lightly brush with honey before air frying.
