Ingredients
Scale
Beef Roast
- 2 lb top sirloin roast (or eye of round)
Seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- ½ teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Bring Roast to Room Temperature: Remove the roast from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 30–45 minutes to ensure even cooking.
- Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes to create an optimal roasting environment.
- Prepare the Roast: Pat the roast dry with paper towels to help the seasoning stick. In a small bowl, mix kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried rosemary, and paprika. Rub the roast all over with olive oil, then coat evenly with the seasoning mixture.
- Initial Air Frying: Place the seasoned roast in the air fryer basket and cook at 400°F for 15 minutes to sear and crisp the outside.
- Lower Temperature & Continue Cooking: Reduce the air fryer temperature to 325°F and continue cooking for an additional 30–45 minutes. Use a meat thermometer during this time to check for desired doneness: 130°F for medium-rare or 140°F for medium.
- Rest the Roast: Once cooked, transfer the roast to a cutting board and let it rest for 10–15 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute for a tender and juicy result.
- Serve: Slice the roast thinly against the grain and serve.
Notes
- Cooking times may vary depending on your air fryer model and the thickness of the roast.
- Always use a meat thermometer for best results to ensure your preferred level of doneness.
- For added flavor, marinate the beef overnight or use fresh herbs instead of dried.
- Resting the meat properly after cooking is essential to keep it juicy.
