Description

This Air Fryer Roast Beef recipe delivers a perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful roast with a crispy exterior using your air fryer. Seasoned with a blend of garlic, onion, rosemary, and paprika, it’s an easy and efficient way to enjoy a classic American roast beef with minimal effort and maximum taste.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Roast

  • 2 lb top sirloin roast (or eye of round)

Seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • ½ teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Bring Roast to Room Temperature: Remove the roast from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 30–45 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  2. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes to create an optimal roasting environment.
  3. Prepare the Roast: Pat the roast dry with paper towels to help the seasoning stick. In a small bowl, mix kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried rosemary, and paprika. Rub the roast all over with olive oil, then coat evenly with the seasoning mixture.
  4. Initial Air Frying: Place the seasoned roast in the air fryer basket and cook at 400°F for 15 minutes to sear and crisp the outside.
  5. Lower Temperature & Continue Cooking: Reduce the air fryer temperature to 325°F and continue cooking for an additional 30–45 minutes. Use a meat thermometer during this time to check for desired doneness: 130°F for medium-rare or 140°F for medium.
  6. Rest the Roast: Once cooked, transfer the roast to a cutting board and let it rest for 10–15 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute for a tender and juicy result.
  7. Serve: Slice the roast thinly against the grain and serve.

Notes

  • Cooking times may vary depending on your air fryer model and the thickness of the roast.
  • Always use a meat thermometer for best results to ensure your preferred level of doneness.
  • For added flavor, marinate the beef overnight or use fresh herbs instead of dried.
  • Resting the meat properly after cooking is essential to keep it juicy.
