Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  3. Add Dry Ingredients: Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until just combined.
  4. Finish Batter: Fold in chocolate chips. Pour batter into pan and smooth the top.
  5. Bake: Bake for 28–32 minutes until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Cool and Slice: Cool in the pan before cutting into squares.
