Description

This Big Mac Pizza combines the classic flavors of a Big Mac burger with a cheesy, savory pizza base. Featuring seasoned ground beef, a tangy Thousand Island dressing, and toppings like shredded lettuce and pickles, this recipe delivers a fun and delicious twist on fast food favorites ideal for a main course meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Pizza Base

  • 1 pound pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)

Beef Mixture

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Toppings

  • 1/2 cup Thousand Island dressing (plus extra for drizzling)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles, sliced
  • Optional garnish: sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set the oven temperature to 450°F (230°C) and allow it to fully heat while preparing the pizza dough.
  2. Prepare the dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle or rectangle. Transfer it carefully onto a greased baking sheet or preheated pizza stone for even cooking.
  3. Cook the beef: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and fully cooked through, approximately 6–7 minutes. Drain any excess grease before using.
  4. Add sauce and cheese: Spread a generous layer of Thousand Island dressing evenly over the rolled-out dough as the base sauce. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese evenly on top.
  5. Top and bake: Evenly distribute the cooked ground beef and diced onions over the cheese layer. Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12–15 minutes until the crust turns golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Finish with fresh toppings: Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool slightly. Then top with shredded lettuce and sliced dill pickles to replicate the signature Big Mac crunch and flavor profile.
  7. Garnish and serve: Drizzle extra Thousand Island dressing over the top. Optionally, sprinkle sesame seeds over the crust for an authentic Big Mac bun appearance. Slice the pizza into 8 pieces and serve immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For a more authentic Big Mac flavor, substitute cheddar cheese with a mixture of American and cheddar cheese.
  • Brush the crust with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds prior to baking for an enhanced sesame bun effect.
  • Use fresh shredded lettuce added just before serving to maintain its crispness.
