Description

Classic Blue Ribbon Deviled Eggs are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer featuring creamy, tangy filling made from hard-boiled egg yolks, mayonnaise, dill relish, and a hint of mustard, all garnished with a dash of paprika for an extra pop of flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Eggs

  • 6 hard boiled eggs

Filling

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon dill relish
  • 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
  • couple dashes of fresh pepper

Garnish

  • Paprika for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the eggs: Slice each hard boiled egg in half lengthwise. Carefully remove the yolks and place them into a medium mixing bowl. Set the egg whites aside on a serving platter.
  2. Mix filling ingredients: Add mayonnaise, dill relish, parsley flakes, white vinegar, yellow mustard, salt, onion powder, and fresh pepper to the bowl with the yolks.
  3. Combine the mixture: Use a fork or a whisk to mix all the ingredients until the filling is smooth, well combined, and creamy in texture.
  4. Fill the egg whites: Spoon or pipe the creamy yolk mixture evenly back into the hollowed egg white halves.
  5. Garnish and serve: Lightly sprinkle paprika over the filled eggs for color and added flavor. Serve chilled or at room temperature as a delightful appetizer.

Notes

  • For easier yolk removal, gently tap the eggs all over to crack the shell before peeling.
  • To make the filling extra smooth, you can mash the yolks thoroughly or use a hand mixer on low speed.
  • These deviled eggs can be prepared a few hours ahead and refrigerated until serving.
  • Adjust the amount of mustard and relish according to your taste preference.
  • Use a piping bag with a star tip for a decorative filling presentation.
