Description
This Caramel Macchiato Overnight Oats recipe is a delicious and convenient breakfast that combines the flavors of a caramel macchiato coffee with creamy oats soaked overnight. Easy to prepare ahead, it uses rolled oats, espresso, Greek yogurt, and a touch of caramel sauce for a sweet, satisfying morning treat.
Ingredients
Scale
Overnight Oats
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
- 1/4 cup brewed espresso or strong coffee (cooled)
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
- 1-2 teaspoons maple syrup or sweetener of choice
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Optional Toppings
- Whipped cream
- Extra caramel drizzle
- Sea salt flakes
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a mason jar or airtight container, add the rolled oats, unsweetened almond milk, cooled brewed espresso, plain Greek yogurt, chia seeds, caramel sauce, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- Refrigerate Overnight: Cover the container tightly and place it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, allowing the oats and chia seeds to soak and soften while blending flavors.
- Prepare to Serve: The next morning, remove the oats from the refrigerator and stir the mixture again. If the texture is too thick, add a splash of milk to loosen it to your desired consistency.
- Add Toppings and Serve: Top your overnight oats with whipped cream, a drizzle of extra caramel sauce, and a sprinkle of sea salt flakes if you like a salty-sweet finish. Enjoy chilled straight from the jar or bowl.
Notes
- To make it vegan, substitute the Greek yogurt with a dairy-free yogurt and use vegan caramel sauce.
- For an extra protein boost, stir in a scoop of protein powder before refrigerating.
- Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of maple syrup or your preferred sweetener.
