			Puff Pastry:

Caramelized Onions:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
 - 4 large yellow onions (thinly sliced)
 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
 - 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or 1/2 teaspoon dried)
 
Additional Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup grated Gruyère cheese (or Swiss)
 - 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
 - Fresh thyme or arugula for garnish (optional)
 
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
 - Caramelize Onions: In a skillet, cook onions in olive oil and butter until golden and caramelized. Season with salt, pepper, and thyme.
 - Prepare Puff Pastry: Unroll puff pastry on the baking sheet, score a border, and prick the center. Spread caramelized onions on the pastry, add cheese, and brush the edges with egg wash.
 - Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden. Let cool slightly, then garnish with thyme or arugula.
