Description

This Cheeseburger Bowls recipe is a flavorful, deconstructed take on the classic Big Mac. Featuring juicy seasoned ground beef, fresh veggies, plenty of cheddar cheese, and a creamy copycat Big Mac sauce, this bowl brings the best burger flavors without the bun. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or when you’re craving a fun, low-carb meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Big Mac Sauce

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup dill pickle relish
  • 2 tablespoons finely minced white onion (or dried minced onion)
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Burger and Bowl

  • 1/2 cup diced white onion
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Chopped romaine lettuce
  • Freshly grated cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • Sliced cherry tomatoes
  • Sliced dill pickles
  • Cooked potato wedges or French fries
  • Sliced red onion (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Big Mac Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, dill pickle relish, finely minced onion, yellow mustard, paprika, and garlic powder until the mixture is well combined. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the sauce while you prepare the rest of the dish to allow the flavors to meld.
  2. Cook the Burger: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and lean ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking the beef apart with a spatula, until fully cooked and browned. Drain any excess grease from the pan to keep the dish lean.
  3. Season the Beef: Lower the heat to low. Season the cooked beef mixture with salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Stir well to distribute seasonings evenly, then continue to cook on low for an additional 5 minutes to deepen the flavors.
  4. Assemble the Bowls: Evenly divide the cooked seasoned beef among four medium-sized bowls. Add chopped romaine lettuce as the base in each bowl, followed by the cooked beef, freshly grated cheddar cheese, sliced cherry tomatoes, dill pickles, and optional sliced red onion. Top each bowl generously with the prepared Big Mac sauce.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Serve the cheeseburger bowls alongside cooked potato wedges or French fries for a complete meal. Enjoy immediately while warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute the lean ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • If you prefer a spicier sauce, add a dash of hot sauce or cayenne pepper to the Big Mac sauce mixture.
  • For a lower-carb option, omit the potato wedges or fries and add extra fresh veggies like cucumber or bell peppers.
  • Leftover sauce keeps well in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
  • Use dried minced onion if fresh onion is unavailable, adjusting quantity to taste.
