Description

Cheesy Beef Burritos with Crispy Fries is a Tex-Mex inspired dish featuring seasoned ground beef, melted cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses, and crunchy fries all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla. Perfect for a satisfying meal that combines savory flavors with a crispy texture.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Beef Filling:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup water

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 4 large flour tortillas (burrito size)
  • 1 cup cooked crispy French fries (frozen or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • Optional jalapeño slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef Filling: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened. Add garlic and cook for another minute. Brown the ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Season the Beef: Stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer until thickened.
  3. Assemble the Burritos: Warm tortillas. Layer beef, cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, and crispy fries. Roll up tightly.
  4. Toast the Burritos: Optionally, toast burritos in a skillet or panini press to melt cheese.
  5. Serve: Serve with sour cream, salsa, green onions, and jalapeños.

Notes

  • You can air-fry or bake the fries while cooking the beef to save time.
  • Swap ground beef with ground turkey or plant-based meat for a lighter version.
