Description

A delicious and hearty Chicken Bacon Ranch Crescent Ring featuring a creamy chicken and bacon filling enclosed in flaky crescent roll dough, topped with melted cheese and crispy bacon, perfect for a crowd-pleasing appetizer or main dish.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 3 cups chopped or shredded chicken
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 6 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Colby Jack cheese
  • ½ cup ranch dressing
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, about 15 twists
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions or chives

Topping

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Colby Jack cheese
  • 2 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • Additional chopped green onions for garnish

Dough

  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls (8 rolls each, 16 total)

Optional for Serving

  • Extra ranch dressing
  • Sour cream
  • Hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or use a round baking stone for even browning.
  2. Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the chopped chicken, 6 slices of cooked and crumbled bacon, softened cream cheese, half of the shredded cheese (1 cup), ranch dressing, garlic powder, freshly cracked black pepper, and 1 tablespoon chopped green onions. Mix until the filling is evenly combined and creamy.
  3. Shape Crescent Ring: On the prepared baking sheet, arrange the crescent rolls in a ring shape with the wide ends overlapping slightly to form a circle, and the pointed ends facing outward. Press the inner edges together to seal the ring.
  4. Add Filling: Spoon the prepared chicken mixture evenly around the center of the crescent roll ring.
  5. Fold and Enclose: Fold the pointed ends of the crescent rolls over the filling and tuck them underneath the wide edges to fully enclose the filling.
  6. Add Toppings: Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheese and the remaining 2 slices of crumbled bacon over the top of the ring.
  7. Bake: Bake the crescent ring in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and crisp.
  8. Garnish and Rest: Remove from the oven, sprinkle with additional chopped green onions, and let the ring rest for 5 minutes before cutting.
  9. Serve: Cut into wedges and serve warm with extra ranch dressing, sour cream, or hot sauce if desired.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened for easy mixing.
  • Use fresh cracked black pepper for the best flavor.
  • For an extra crispy crust, using a baking stone is recommended.
  • The ring can be customized with different cheeses or herbs to suit your taste.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheat before serving.
