Ingredients
Scale
Filling
- 2 cups cooked chicken (shredded or finely chopped)
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions or chives
- 1 tablespoon milk
Dough & Topping
- 2 (8 oz) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
- ¼ cup melted butter (for brushing)
- ½ cup seasoned breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
- Prepare Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, softened cream cheese, 2 tablespoons softened butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, chopped green onions, and milk. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are well blended and creamy.
- Assemble Bundles: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 rectangles by pressing two triangles together at the seam. Spoon approximately ¼ cup of the chicken mixture into the center of each rectangle. Fold the corners up and over the filling, pinching the edges to seal tightly, creating neat bundles.
- Prepare for Baking: Place each sealed bundle seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops generously with melted butter to ensure a golden, rich finish. If desired, sprinkle the bundles with seasoned breadcrumbs for a crunchy topping.
- Bake: Bake the chicken bundles in the preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes, or until they are puffed up and golden brown on top.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly for a few minutes before serving to allow the filling to set and avoid burning the mouth.
Notes
- Use rotisserie chicken for a convenient and flavorful shortcut.
- Enhance the filling with cooked broccoli, shredded cheese, or sautéed mushrooms for added texture and flavor.
- Chicken bundles freeze well; reheat in the oven or air fryer to retain crispiness when warming up leftovers.
