Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 package (5.2 oz) Boursin Garlic & Herb cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
Garnish
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Season the chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt and pepper to enhance the natural flavor.
- Cook the chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side, depending on thickness. Once cooked, remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
- Sauté garlic: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Deglaze the pan: Pour in the chicken broth and use a spatula to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan, adding flavor to the sauce.
- Add cream and cheese: Reduce heat to medium-low and stir in the heavy cream and Boursin Garlic & Herb cheese. Stir continuously until the cheese melts completely and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
- Simmer with chicken: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet with the sauce. Spoon sauce over the chicken and simmer gently for 3-5 minutes to warm through and allow the flavors to combine.
- Garnish and serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired and serve immediately for a comforting, flavorful meal.
Notes
- For best results, use chicken breasts of similar thickness to ensure even cooking.
- If the sauce is too thick, thin it with a splash of additional chicken broth or cream.
- Fresh parsley adds a nice fresh color and herbal note but can be omitted if unavailable.
- This dish pairs well with mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a side of rice.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
