Description

This Chicken Quesadillas Crunch Wrap recipe is a delicious Tex-Mex fusion dish combining tender shredded chicken and melted cheeses with crispy tostada shells, fresh lettuce, tomato, and green onions all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla. Perfect for a quick and satisfying dinner, these crunch wraps deliver a delightful mix of textures and bold flavors, ready in just 25 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Mixture

  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Assembly and Toppings

  • 4 large flour tortillas (burrito size)
  • 4 small tostada shells (or tortilla chips for crunch)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions

Cooking

  • Cooking spray or a little oil for pan

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, sour cream, salsa, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Assemble the Wrap: Lay a large flour tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spoon a generous portion of the chicken mixture into the center of the tortilla. Place a tostada shell or a layer of tortilla chips over the chicken mixture to add a satisfying crunch. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomato, and chopped green onions.
  3. Fold the Tortilla: Carefully fold the edges of the tortilla inward, working your way around the circle to enclose the filling completely and create a sealed wrap.
  4. Cook the Crunch Wrap: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with cooking spray or a small amount of oil. Place the wrap seam-side down onto the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown and crispy. Flip the wrap and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until equally golden and the cheese inside is melted.
  5. Repeat and Serve: Repeat the cooking process with the remaining wraps. Slice each wrap in half if desired and serve hot for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground beef or shredded beef for chicken to vary the protein.
  • Add sliced jalapeños to the filling for an extra spicy kick.
  • Using pepper jack cheese instead of cheddar or Monterey Jack adds a nice spicy flavor.
  • If tostada shells are unavailable, tortilla chips are an excellent alternative to provide that signature crunch.
