Description

This Crockpot Angel Chicken recipe features tender, shredded chicken breasts cooked in a creamy, flavorful sauce made with cream cheese, cream of chicken soup, and Italian seasonings. Served over angel hair pasta and topped with Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley, it’s an easy and comforting slow cooker meal perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Sauce

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 (0.7-ounce) Italian dressing seasoning packet
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Pasta and Garnish

  • 12 ounces angel hair pasta
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter, then whisk in the cream of chicken soup, softened cream cheese, chicken broth, Italian dressing seasoning packet, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  2. Cook the chicken: Place the boneless skinless chicken breasts into the slow cooker. Pour the prepared creamy sauce evenly over the chicken to coat. Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is tender and can be easily shredded with a fork.
  3. Cook the pasta: Approximately 20 minutes before serving, cook the angel hair pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain the pasta thoroughly to remove excess water.
  4. Combine and finish: Remove the cooked chicken from the slow cooker and shred or slice it as desired. Return the shredded chicken to the crockpot and stir in the cooked angel hair pasta until it is fully coated in the creamy sauce.
  5. Serve: Plate the creamy chicken and pasta mixture, then garnish each serving with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley. Serve warm for a comforting meal.

Notes

  • For enhanced flavor, try using garlic and herb cream cheese instead of plain cream cheese.
  • You can substitute the cream of chicken soup with cream of mushroom soup for a richer taste.
  • This dish reheats very well, making it ideal for meal prep or busy weeknights.
