Description
This Easy Crockpot Ravioli Lasagna is a comforting and effortless layered casserole combining frozen cheese ravioli, pasta sauce, browned ground beef, and layers of Parmesan and mozzarella cheese. Prepared in a slow cooker, it’s perfect for busy days when you want a hearty, cheesy Italian-inspired meal without the fuss of traditional lasagna preparation.
Ingredients
Scale
Meat
- 1 lb ground beef, browned and drained (use 2 lbs for extra meatiness if desired)
Pasta
- 1 bag (25 oz) frozen cheese ravioli
Cheese
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
Sauce
- 1 jar (24 oz) pasta sauce
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until well browned. Drain any excess fat thoroughly and set the beef aside for layering later.
- Prepare the crockpot: Lightly grease the bottom and sides of your crockpot to prevent sticking and make serving easier.
- Layer the ingredients: Spread a thin layer of pasta sauce on the bottom of the crockpot. Place a layer of frozen cheese ravioli over the sauce, followed by a portion of the browned ground beef. Sprinkle with shredded Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses. Repeat these layers—sauce, ravioli, beef, and cheeses—until ingredients are used up, finishing with a top layer of cheese.
- Cook: Cover the crockpot with the lid and cook on low heat for 4 to 5 hours, or on high heat for 2 to 3 hours. Cook until the ravioli is tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly throughout.
- Serve: Carefully remove the crockpot lid and serve the ravioli lasagna hot. Garnish with extra Parmesan cheese or fresh herbs such as basil or parsley if desired to add a fresh, vibrant touch.
Notes
- For extra meaty texture, increase ground beef to 2 lbs.
- Use any favorite pasta sauce, homemade or store-bought, to customize flavor.
- Layer evenly to ensure proper cooking throughout the crockpot.
- Cooking times may vary slightly depending on your crockpot model.
- Garnish with fresh herbs or an additional sprinkle of Parmesan before serving for enhanced taste and presentation.
