Ingredients
Lasagna Noodles:
9 lasagna noodles
Ground Beef Mixture:
1 lb ground beef, 1 small onion (chopped), 2 cloves garlic (minced), 3 cups tomato sauce, 1 tsp dried basil, 1 tsp dried oregano, 1 tsp salt, ½ tsp black pepper
Cheese Layers:
15 oz ricotta cheese, 1 large egg, 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Cook noodles: Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- Prepare meat sauce: In a large skillet, cook ground beef with onion and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat. Stir in tomato sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Prepare ricotta mixture: In a medium bowl, mix ricotta cheese with egg until smooth.
- Layer lasagna: In a 9×13-inch baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella, and Parmesan, repeating the layers. Top with remaining meat sauce and cheeses.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 15 minutes until bubbly and golden. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or a mix of beef and Italian sausage for added flavor.
