Ingredients
Scale
Fruits
- 4 medium Fresh Peaches (Ripe and firm for best flavor)
Sweetener & Spices
- 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar (For caramelizing the peaches)
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon (Adds warmth and spice)
Fats & Dairy
- 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter (For brushing on the grill)
- 2 cups Ice Cream (Vanilla is a classic choice)
Garnish
- 1 handful Mint Leaves (For garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium heat to ensure it is ready for cooking and will give the peaches a perfect char.
- Prepare the Peaches: Wash the peaches thoroughly under running water and pat them dry with a clean towel to remove any dirt or residue.
- Halve and Pit the Peaches: Slice each peach in half vertically and carefully remove the central pit to create two clean halves.
- Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a small mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon to create a flavorful caramelizing mixture.
- Brush with Butter: Melt the unsalted butter and brush it generously over the cut sides of the peach halves to add richness and help with caramelization.
- Sprinkle Cinnamon Sugar: Evenly sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the buttered, cut sides of the peaches to enhance sweetness and flavor.
- Grill Peaches: Place the peaches cut-side down on the preheated grill. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the peaches develop nice grill marks and begin to soften.
- Flip and Continue Grilling: Carefully flip the peaches over and grill the skin side for an additional 3-4 minutes to warm through without burning.
- Prepare Serving Plates: Scoop vanilla ice cream onto serving plates as a cool, creamy base for the warm peaches.
- Serve: Place the grilled peach halves over the ice cream scoops, ensuring the cut-side faces up to show the caramelized surface.
- Garnish and Enjoy: Finish by garnishing each plate with fresh mint leaves to add a pop of color and refreshing flavor. Serve immediately for the best texture and taste.
Notes
- Choose peaches that are ripe but firm for grilling to avoid them falling apart.
- Use unsalted butter to control the salt level in the dessert.
- Vanilla ice cream pairs wonderfully, but you could also try cinnamon or caramel flavored ice cream.
- If you don’t have a grill, a grill pan on the stovetop works as a good alternative.
- Serve immediately as grilled peaches and ice cream are best enjoyed warm with cold.
