Description

These festive Halloween Jello Shots are a fun and spooky party treat featuring layers of orange and black cherry or grape gelatin, infused with vodka for an adult twist or soda for a non-alcoholic version. Garnished with candy corn and gummy worms, they bring eerie fun to any Halloween celebration.

Ingredients

Scale

Orange Layer

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 pkg orange Jello powder (or any orange-flavored gelatin)
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup vodka (or substitute with soda for non-alcoholic)

Black Cherry/Grape Layer

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 pkg black cherry or grape Jello powder

Garnish

  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1 cup gummy worms

Instructions

  1. Boil Water for Orange Layer: Heat 1 cup of water in a medium saucepan over high heat until it reaches a rolling boil.
  2. Dissolve Orange Jello: Remove from heat and stir in the orange Jello powder until completely dissolved.
  3. Add Cold Water and Vodka: Stir in 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup vodka (or soda for non-alcoholic) gently to combine.
  4. Pour Orange Layer: Pour the orange Jello mixture halfway into shot glasses.
  5. Refrigerate Orange Layer: Place the glasses in the refrigerator for about 1 hour to allow the orange layer to set.
  6. Boil Water for Black Cherry/Grape Layer: While the first layer sets, boil another cup of water.
  7. Dissolve Black Cherry/Grape Jello: Stir the black cherry or grape Jello powder into the boiling water until fully dissolved.
  8. Pour Second Layer: Once the orange layer is set, carefully pour the black cherry or grape mixture over it in each shot glass.
  9. Final Refrigeration: Return the shot glasses to the refrigerator and chill for an additional 2-3 hours until the black layer is fully set.
  10. Garnish and Serve: Before serving, top each jello shot with candy corn or a gummy worm for a festive Halloween touch.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute vodka with an equal amount of soda or sparkling water.
  • Use shot glasses of similar size for even layers.
  • Allow each layer to fully set before adding the next to maintain distinct layers.
  • Store in the refrigerator and consume within 48 hours for best freshness.
  • Experiment with different flavored Jello powders to customize colors and flavors.
