Description

Enjoy these delicious Honey Lemon Pepper Wings that combine crispy baked chicken wings with a sweet and tangy honey lemon pepper sauce. Perfect as a flavorful appetizer or game day snack, these wings are easy to prepare and bursting with bright citrus and savory spice.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Wings

  • 2 pounds chicken wings (drumettes and flats)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons lemon pepper seasoning

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare wings: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to ensure they get crispy.
  2. Season wings: Place wings in a large bowl, drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and 1 tablespoon of lemon pepper seasoning. Toss well to coat all wings evenly.
  3. Arrange and bake: Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, flipping them halfway through to ensure even browning and crispiness.
  4. Make the honey lemon pepper sauce: While wings bake, combine honey, fresh lemon juice, unsalted butter, lemon zest, and the remaining tablespoon of lemon pepper seasoning in a small saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring until the butter melts and the sauce becomes smooth.
  5. Toss wings in sauce: When wings are golden brown and crispy, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the warm honey lemon pepper sauce over the wings and toss thoroughly so each wing is coated well.
  6. Garnish and serve: Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve the wings immediately while warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, broil them for the last 2–3 minutes of baking.
  • Air frying at 400°F for 25–28 minutes works as a great alternative cooking method.
  • Adjust lemon pepper seasoning to taste depending on the brand’s strength for perfect flavor balance.
