Description

This Jelly Nougat Candy Recipe is a festive, no-bake treat combining creamy white chocolate, mini marshmallows, and colorful gumdrops for a chewy, sweet delight perfect for holidays or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1 (10-ounce) bag mini marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Candy Mix-Ins

  • 2 cups red and green gumdrops or jellied fruit candies, quartered and lightly dusted in powdered sugar to prevent sticking

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang to allow for easy removal of the nougat later.
  2. Melt Butter and Chocolate: In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the white chocolate chips and stir continuously until the mixture is fully melted and smooth.
  3. Add Marshmallows: Stir in the mini marshmallows and continue stirring until they are completely melted and fully combined with the chocolate mixture.
  4. Flavor and Mix: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Gently fold in the quartered gumdrops that have been dusted with powdered sugar, ensuring even distribution without causing them to dissolve.
  5. Set the Nougat: Pour the combined mixture into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top evenly using a spatula. Let the nougat sit at room temperature for about 2 hours until firm and fully set.
  6. Cut and Serve: Once set, carefully lift the nougat out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Use a sharp knife to cut into approximately 36 small squares for serving.

Notes

  • Lightly coating the gumdrops in powdered sugar helps keep them from sticking together and prevents them from sinking in the nougat mixture.
  • For a festive appearance, use seasonal-color gumdrops or jellied fruit candies.
  • Store the nougat candy in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week to maintain freshness.
