Description

Mango Lassi is a refreshing and creamy Indian yogurt-based drink made with ripe and frozen mangoes, yogurt, milk, and a hint of aromatic cardamom. Perfect for hot days or as a sweet accompaniment to spicy meals, this tropical smoothie is naturally sweetened and delightfully smooth.

Fresh Mangoes

  • 3 fresh ripe mangoes

Frozen Fruits

  • 1 (16 ounce) bag frozen mango chunks

Dairy

  • 1 cup plain whole milk yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk

Spices & Sweeteners

  • 2-3 tablespoons granulated sugar, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom


Instructions

  1. Prepare Fresh Mangoes: Slice the fresh mangoes vertically, just to the side of the center to avoid the large flat pit. Make several slices across the pulp side creating cubes, then push from the skin side to invert the mango, making it easier to cut out the cubes with a knife.
  2. Blend Fresh Mango Pulp: Add the cut mango cubes to a blender and blend until smooth to create a fresh mango puree base.
  3. Add Remaining Ingredients: To the blender, add the frozen mango chunks, plain whole milk yogurt, milk, and ground cardamom.
  4. Blend Until Smooth: Blend all ingredients thoroughly until the mixture is creamy and smooth without any lumps.
  5. Sweeten to Taste: Taste the mango lassi and add 2 to 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar gradually until the desired sweetness is reached. Blend again briefly to combine.
  6. Serve: Pour the mango lassi into serving glasses immediately and garnish with diced fresh mango pieces on top for an extra burst of freshness and texture.

  • Use ripe mangoes for best natural sweetness and flavor.
  • Adjust the sugar depending on the mango sweetness and personal preference.
  • Whole milk yogurt creates a creamier texture, but low-fat yogurt can be used for a lighter version.
