Ingredients
Scale
For Matcha Dough:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon matcha green tea powder
For Strawberry Dough:
- 2 tablespoons freeze-dried strawberry powder
Additional:
- 1–2 teaspoons milk, if needed
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream the butter and sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add wet ingredients: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Prepare the dough: Divide the dough evenly into two bowls. Mix the matcha powder into one portion and the strawberry powder into the other. Add milk if needed.
- Create marble effect: Take small portions of each dough, press them together, and twist slightly to create a marbled effect. Roll into balls and flatten slightly on the baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set but centers are soft. Cool on the sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For more vibrant colors, add an extra 1 teaspoon of matcha or strawberry powder to each dough portion.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
