- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a separate large bowl, cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
- Combine ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Bake: Scoop dough onto the baking sheet, bake for 10–12 minutes until set. Cool on pan before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For a stronger matcha flavor, increase matcha powder to 1 1/2 tablespoons.
- White chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate can be used as alternatives.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
