Description

These Meat Lovers Pizza Tacos combine the hearty flavors of ground beef, Italian sausage, and pepperoni with classic pizza toppings on crispy flour tortillas. Baked to perfection with melted mozzarella and cheddar cheese, they offer a fun and satisfying twist on traditional pizza that’s perfect for a casual meal or party snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat Mixture

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage, crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Pizza Toppings

  • 1/2 lb pepperoni slices
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup pizza sauce

Base

  • 8 small flour tortillas

Optional Garnishes

  • Chopped fresh basil
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Cook the Meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage until fully browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess fat, then add dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine and then set the meat mixture aside.
  2. Prepare the Tortillas: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lay out the flour tortillas and spread a thin, even layer of pizza sauce on each one.
  3. Assemble the Pizza Tacos: Evenly distribute the cooked meat mixture over the sauced tortillas. Top each with pepperoni slices, black olives, shredded mozzarella, and cheddar cheese, ensuring good coverage for a deliciously cheesy finish.
  4. Bake: Place the prepared tortillas on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes. Bake until the cheese has melted fully, is bubbly, and the edges of the tortillas have turned crispy.
  5. Serve: Remove the pizza tacos from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Optionally garnish with chopped fresh basil, grated Parmesan, and red pepper flakes. Cut each taco into wedges and serve warm for a tasty and fun meal.

Notes

  • You can substitute turkey sausage to make a leaner version of this recipe.
  • Feel free to add your favorite pizza vegetables like mushrooms or bell peppers for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • Use corn tortillas for a gluten-free alternative, but they may be less sturdy when loaded.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven for best texture.
  • If you prefer spicier tacos, add red pepper flakes into the meat mixture when cooking.
