For the Mini Tacos:
- 1 package (15-count) mini phyllo shells
- ½ pound ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
- ¼ cup water
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
For Toppings:
- ¼ cup sour cream
- ¼ cup diced tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook Meat: Brown and cook the ground beef in a skillet. Add taco seasoning and water, simmer until thickened.
- Fill Shells: Arrange phyllo shells on a baking sheet, fill with taco meat, top with cheddar cheese.
- Bake: Bake for 5–7 minutes until cheese melts and shells are crisp.
- Add Toppings: Top each taco with sour cream, tomatoes, green onions, and cilantro. Serve warm.
Notes
- You can prep the filling ahead of time and assemble just before baking.
- Swap the beef for black beans for a vegetarian option.
