Description

This Peach Banana Smoothie is a quick, easy, and naturally sweet beverage perfect for a nutritious breakfast or refreshing snack. It combines creamy banana, juicy peaches, and smooth Greek yogurt, blended with your choice of milk. Optional vanilla and sweeteners enhance the flavor, while ice or frozen fruit adjust the texture to your liking.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruits

  • 1 ripe banana (frozen for best texture)
  • 1 cup sliced peaches (fresh or frozen)

Liquids

  • 3/4 cup milk of choice (dairy, almond, oat, soy, etc.)

Dairy & Alternatives

  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (or dairy-free yogurt)

Flavorings & Extras

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, to taste)
  • Handful of ice (optional, especially if using fresh fruit)

Instructions

  1. Freeze the fruit: Peel and slice the banana, then freeze it for at least 2 hours. If using fresh peaches instead of frozen, slice and freeze them as well to achieve the best smoothie texture.
  2. Combine ingredients: In a blender, add the milk and Greek yogurt first to facilitate blending. Then add the frozen banana, peaches, and optional vanilla extract or sweetener like honey or maple syrup.
  3. Blend until smooth: Blend all the ingredients for 45 to 60 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth. Pause and scrape down the sides of the blender if necessary to ensure even blending.
  4. Adjust consistency: Add more milk if you prefer a thinner smoothie, or add ice or additional frozen fruit to thicken it. Blend again briefly to combine.
  5. Serve: Pour the smoothie into a glass or tumbler and enjoy immediately while it is cold and fresh for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Freezing the banana and peaches prior to blending creates a creamy, thick texture similar to a milkshake without needing additional ice cream or sweeteners.
  • You can use any milk of choice, such as dairy or plant-based options like almond, oat, or soy milk, to suit dietary preferences.
  • If you prefer a sweeter smoothie, adjust the amount of honey or maple syrup to taste or omit entirely for a naturally sweetened version.
  • Greek yogurt adds protein and creaminess but can be substituted with dairy-free yogurt to make the smoothie vegan.
  • For a colder smoothie, add a handful of ice cubes when blending, especially if using fresh fruit that wasn’t frozen.
