Description

This Slow Cooker Better Than Sex Cake is a decadent, irresistible dessert that combines moist devil’s food cake with sweetened condensed milk, caramel topping, and chopped Heath bars, all topped with fluffy Cool Whip. Perfectly cooked in a slow cooker, this no-fuss cake offers a rich and indulgent treat with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale

Cake Batter

  • 15.25 oz devil’s food cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

Toppings and Garnishes

  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup caramel topping, plus extra for drizzling
  • 8 oz Cool Whip, thawed
  • 3 Heath bars, chopped
  • Chocolate sauce, for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cake Batter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the devil’s food cake mix, eggs, water, and melted butter. Mix until the batter is smooth and well combined, ensuring there are no lumps.
  2. Prepare Slow Cooker: Spray the inside of your slow cooker with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Pour the cake batter into the slow cooker and smooth it into an even layer using a spatula.
  3. Cook the Cake: Cover the slow cooker with its lid and cook on the HIGH setting for 2 hours. Avoid lifting the lid during cooking to maintain temperature and moisture.
  4. Add Sweetened Condensed Milk and Caramel: Once the cake is cooked, use the end of a spoon to poke holes all over the surface. Pour the sweetened condensed milk and ½ cup caramel topping evenly over the cake, allowing the liquids to seep into the holes.
  5. Cool and Chill: Let the cake cool slightly, then transfer it to the refrigerator to chill for at least 2 hours or preferably overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the cake to firm up.
  6. Add Final Toppings: Before serving, spread the thawed Cool Whip evenly over the chilled cake. Sprinkle the chopped Heath bars on top, then drizzle with additional caramel topping and a drizzle of chocolate sauce if desired for extra decadence.
  7. Serve: Serve the cake warm or cold by scooping out portions with a spoon. Enjoy this rich, moist dessert that’s sure to impress!

Notes

  • Make sure not to lift the lid during slow cooking to ensure the cake cooks evenly.
  • Chilling the cake overnight enhances the flavor and texture.
  • Use room temperature eggs for better batter consistency.
  • Optional: Drizzle with chocolate sauce in addition to caramel for extra richness.
  • Heath bars can be substituted with similar toffee candy bars if unavailable.
