Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 medium russet potatoes (peeled and thinly sliced)
- 1 medium yellow onion (thinly sliced)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- ½ cup milk
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped, optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Brown the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
- Mix the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Layer in Slow Cooker: In a greased slow cooker, layer half the sliced potatoes, followed by half the onions, half the cooked ground beef, and half the soup mixture. Repeat the layers.
- Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until the potatoes are fork-tender.
- Add Cheese: In the final 30 minutes, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top, cover, and let it melt.
- Finish: Garnish with chopped parsley before serving, if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute cream of mushroom soup with cream of chicken or cream of celery for a different flavor.
- Add a layer of frozen mixed vegetables for extra nutrition.
