Description

This Taco Pizza Appetizer is a delicious, flavor-packed party favorite that’s easy to make and perfect for gatherings. Featuring a crispy crescent roll crust topped with a creamy taco-spiced spread and fresh toppings like shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, olives, and green onions, this vibrant appetizer delivers all your favorite taco flavors in a fun, shareable pizza style.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 1 (8-ounce) tube refrigerated crescent rolls

Spread

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 ounces sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning (store-bought or homemade)

Toppings

  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded lettuce
  • ½ cup chopped tomatoes
  • ¼ cup sliced black olives
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Optional: diced avocado, jalapeños, salsa drizzle, or hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Unroll the crescent dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Press all the seams together firmly to create one solid crust. Bake in the oven for 8–10 minutes until the crust turns golden brown and cooked through. Remove and allow it to cool completely before adding toppings.
  2. Make the taco spread: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning. Mix well until the mixture is smooth and evenly blended. This spread will add a creamy, savory taco flavor to your pizza base.
  3. Assemble the pizza: Once the crust is cool, evenly spread the taco cream cheese mixture over the entire surface. Then layer with shredded lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped tomatoes, sliced black olives, and chopped green onions. Feel free to add optional toppings like diced avocado, jalapeños, a drizzle of salsa, or hot sauce to kick up the flavor.
  4. Chill and serve: Refrigerate the assembled pizza for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the spread to firm up. Before serving, slice into squares or triangles for easy sharing at your party or gathering.

Notes

  • Ensure the crescent roll crust is completely cooled before spreading the cream cheese mixture to prevent melting.
  • You can make your own taco seasoning by mixing chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and oregano.
  • Optional toppings add extra flavor and texture—adjust based on your preferences.
  • Refrigerating the assembled pizza helps it set, making it easier to slice and serve.
  • For a gluten-free version, substitute the crescent rolls with a gluten-free dough alternative.
