Scale
Sandwich Ingredients
- 4 slices thick sliced bread (such as Sara Lee® Artesano™)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 ounces brie cheese, sliced
- 1/2 cup blueberries (or blackberries or strawberries)
- 2 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, sliced (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the skillet: Warm a skillet over medium heat to prepare for grilling the sandwiches.
- Butter the bread: Spread butter on one side of each bread slice. Place two slices butter-side down onto the skillet.
- Add brie cheese: Layer the sliced brie cheese evenly on top of the bread slices in the skillet.
- Add berries and cheddar cheese: Distribute the blueberries (or alternative berries) over the brie, then add sliced sharp cheddar cheese if using.
- Top with remaining bread slices: Place the other two slices of bread on top, butter side facing out.
- Cook sandwiches: Grill each sandwich for 3–4 minutes per side until the bread turns golden brown and the cheese inside is melted.
Notes
- You can use blackberries or strawberries instead of blueberries for a different berry flavor.
- The sharp cheddar cheese is optional but adds a nice contrast to the creamy brie and sweet berries.
- Serve immediately for the best melty texture.
- Use thick sliced artisanal bread to hold the fillings well and provide a satisfying crunch.
- Butter spread helps achieve a golden and crispy crust.
